Programs and standards

The past few years have shown us the damages that vulnerabilities on networks and in webapplications can do. Attacks towards corporations and users, information fraud, credit card fraud, information theft and content replacement has been in the headlines in an increasing way. Organized crime is aware of the possibility to take advantage of vulnerabilities, and does use this possibility. The risk of on-line terrorist attacks agains websites and applications has also increased significantly.

At a low level, the damage can be made by content replacement or blocking non-critical services, but more often we read about organzations losing tens of millions by direct fraud or denial of service on large e-commerce platforms.

In order to maintain trust towards networks and on-line applications, the public needs to be assured that security awareness is very high and actions to improve security are taken. To achive this trust, we need standards, programmes and legislation that state how security should be handeled and ensured.
